WhatsApp Announces New Features

WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform owned by Meta, has recently unveiled three exciting features aimed at enhancing the user experience. These additions, reported by WaBetaInfo, focus on improving polls, forwarding media with captions, and sharing documents with captions.

While these updates are being rolled out worldwide, users can access them gradually by installing the latest version of the app. However, it’s important to note that the availability of these features may vary and could take some time to reach all users.

Polls

The latest update introduces a new feature that streamlines the process of reaching a definitive answer in polls. Poll creators now have the option to enable a single-vote setting, disabling the “allow multiple answers” toggle. This empowers creators to gather more accurate responses.

Furthermore, users can now conveniently filter messages by polls, similar to searching for photos, videos, or links. By selecting the “polls” option, users can easily locate specific poll-related texts, making it effortless to reference and analyze poll results.

According to a statement from the app-tracking website, the latest app updates ensure that poll creators stay informed about responses by receiving notifications when people vote on their polls. This enhances the engagement and interaction between poll creators and participants.

Forward Media with Captions

In the latest feature update, WhatsApp users can now forward media, including photos, videos, and GIFs, with captions. This gives users the flexibility to share content while retaining, removing, or enhancing the existing captions as they see fit. This feature enables users to provide context or additional information to enrich the shared media.

Moreover, users can also forward documents along with captions, simplifying the process of locating specific files in the future. By adding helpful captions to the forwarded documents, organization and retrieval become easier and more efficient.

These enhancements provide users with greater control and customization options when sharing media and documents, ultimately improving communication and collaboration.

WhatsApp continues to prioritize user experience by introducing innovative features that cater to users’ evolving needs. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as the platform strives to enhance your messaging experience.

New Updates for WhatsApp – Keep in Chat

WhatsApp released Disappearing Messages last year expanding the list of privacy-related features on the platform. The company is now refining it by rolling out ‘Keep in Chat’ feature that will allow users to retain important messages even if Disappearing Messages is enabled.

Why is ‘Keep in Chat’ important

Enabling disappearing messages allows users to set messages to disappear 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days after the time they are sent. In the process, some important messages, which you may need to revisit at a later time, also get removed. In order to save those messages, such as an occasional voice note or key piece of information you want to keep, when Disappearing Messages is enabled, users can use the Keep in Chat feature.
“Today we’re introducing ‘Keep in Chat,’ so you can hang on to texts you need for later, with a special superpower for the sender. We believe if you’ve sent the message, it’s your choice whether others in the chat can keep it for later,” the company said.

‘Keep in Chat’ will roll out globally over the next few week ..

WhatsApp will soon allow you to lock separate Chats

WhatsApp is often working on new features and rolling out new tools or privacy updates every other week. So it comes as no surprise that the instant-messaging platform is currently working on a new privacy feature that will allow users to lock their private chats within the app itself.

As per a report in WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp will let users lock any specific chat on the platform by using fingerprint, passcode or face lock.

Apart from text messages, this feature will also protect media files, audios and documents shared between two parties in a chat.

In case someone tries to open these locked chats on WhatsApp and fails the authentication process several times, then they will need to clear the chat in order to open it, the report suggests.

However, the Lock Chat feature for WhatsApp chats is currently being tested for Android beta. Once the feature starts to roll out slowly for public, it will also be launched for iOS users.

The Lock Chat feature will reportedly archive chats that are locked in a separate folder altogether, making it easier to spot yet it stays hidden and isn’t in your face.

WhatsApp to Introduce a New Feature in Which Audio Messages Sent will be Playable Only Once

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has announced a new feature that allows users to send audio messages that can only be played once. This messaging app will receive an update, version 2.23.7.8, according to an app-tracking website. The audio messaging feature has been developed to enhance privacy and will only play once when activated.

The audio messaging feature is currently in development, and will be available in a future release. This feature will function similarly to WhatsApp’s existing view-once feature for photographs and videos, where the content can only be viewed once and cannot be saved, forwarded or recorded for added privacy.

With this new feature, audio messages sent in view-once mode cannot be saved, forwarded or recorded, making it even more secure and private for users. This would limit the possibility of someone else accessing or listening to the voice note afterwards, thus providing a higher level of privacy and security for communication.

The feature is expected to be popular among WhatsApp users who value privacy and the protection of sensitive and confidential information. It is yet another example of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to enhance privacy and security for its users.
